My struggle

I have always been taught that God is great and wonderful, and He is.
We all must go through the bad times to rely on Him.
One of my recent struggles was that I had the hardest time letting go of my past. Filling me up with anger, bitterness, hatred, and resentment.
I went to church this last Sunday, and they had a large cross with little pieces of paper nailed to it. It had been the things that people had written down, and thrown into the coffin the Sunday before. Physically writing your burdens and sins down. Then taking them and giving it to Jesus is liberating.
On Sunday I decided to make my way to the cross and write down all that I had been struggling with. Everything that the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me.
I took a hammer, and I nailed to the cross. I gave it to God.
Now, when I get that small voice saying do you "remember when . . ." I just say, "I nailed it to the cross, now leave me alone Satan."
Now I pray that God can use me for His glory, and work in me that I may be a better servant for Him.
